Thank you and goodbye to John Pettit

The BDA farewelled our friend, stalwart and long-serving Executive Director John Pettit at a celebration generously hosted by Patron Minter Ellison following our Management Committee meeting this week. John’s standing in the community is such that Lord Mayor Graham Quirk dropped by to present him with a special City of Brisbane tie, which John has promised to flaunt as he moves around his soon-to-be new home town of Melbourne. I thanked John on behalf of the organisation, and presented him with a David Hinchliffe painting of Fortitude Valley and some fine wine.

Brisbane Airport Corporation and Virgin Australia sign major new agreement

Brisbane Airport Corporation and Virgin Australia have signed a major new agreement on terminal and runway services at Brisbane Airport.

This announcement is a milestone in the upgrading of Brisbane Airport. In the years since privatisation BAC has invested more than $1 billion building new access roads, upgrading the domestic and international terminal facilities and developing the airport precinct as a major economic driver for the city, state and nation.
