The Brisbane Development Association (BDA) has a proud history of contributing to the creation of a better Brisbane. As early as 1967, the BDA was pushing for the pedestrian precinct we now know as the Queen Street Mall as part of its strategy for the City Heart.

2012 marks the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Queen Street Mall.  Despite its undoubted benefits, the Mall has had some unforeseen impacts on the streets around it, with both Adelaide and Elizabeth Streets suffering as a result.

But dramatic change is taking place.  The transformation of almost an entire CBD block - the iconic Wintergarden, the Hilton Hotel and the Regent Tower – marks the biggest change to the City Heart since the creation of the Myer Centre 23 years ago.

ISPT Super, Property Development Director, Chris McCluskey, will be joined by the Chairperson of Brisbane City Council’s Neighbourhood Planning and Development Assessment Committee, Councillor Amanda Cooper, and Queensland Government Architect, Malcolm Middleton, to discuss the contribution of the $1 billion project to the transformation of Elizabeth Street, the enhancement of the Queen Street Mall experience and its role within the greater CBD.
