Public transport is seen by many as the solution to growing road congestion in our capital cities. What is the future of public transport in Brisbane and what role will developers, operators and government play in helping to keep our city moving?

TransLink operates the largest integrated public transport network in Australia, covering more than 10,000 square kilometres. With 20 bus, rail and ferry operators Translink has been instrumental in delivering an integrated public transport network, Australia’s number one smart card ticketing system and unprecedented growth in public transport usage across the region.

Meeting this increased demand for fast, frequent and reliable public transport in an increasingly congested urban environment is the critical challenge facing all public transport providers throughout the world.  To do so, TransLink is changing the way that it delivers public transport.

Peter Strachan, CEO TransLink, will outline the key aspects of TransLink’s strategy in relation to the Connecting SEQ 2031 Integrated Regional Transport Plan, along with some of the new initiatives around network design, ticketing and customer information technology that should make getting around Brisbane even easier in the future.

Come and join us to hear from TransLink on how they will create a better Brisbane through a truly integrated transport network, and take the opportunity to put forward your questions and viewpoints in our audience engagement period that will be available at the lunch.
